He opened the day with words alluding to his visit to Argentina and the importance of the relationship between Japan and Argentina, which is fulfilling 125 years of history, and the Ambassador of Japan in Argentina, Yamauchi Hiroshi, who highlighted that this fleet has already visited the United States, Mexico, Peru, and Chile on this trip, traveling so far 52,400 kilometers and 149 days at sea.

Likewise, the ambassador remarked that the friendly relationship between the armed forces of Japan and Argentina began as soon as diplomatic ties between the two nations were consummated, in 1886. He recalled that in 1903 Japan acquired the ships “Moreno” and “Rivadavia” from Argentina. , which were renamed “Nishin” and “Kasuga”, and which were a pillar in the Japanese military development at that time.

About training trips

They are designed for officers (who have graduated from the General Officer Candidate Course at the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Officer Candidate School) to acquire the basic knowledge and skills necessary for service in the squadron.

The friendly relationship between the armed forces of Japan and Argentina began as soon as diplomatic ties between the two nations were consummated, in 1886.

The long-term experience at sea and their training will enable them to master the basics of command and leadership and cultivate an international sense through joint training with other countries. The aim is to develop flexible junior cadres and promote friendly relations with visiting countries.
