The construction work of the covered sports ground of the municipality has been completed. They were completed at the beginning of July, and made it possible to continue with the exterior works carried out by the Urban Community of Creusot-Montceau, which are also now complete. This involves the creation of around ten parking spaces, various routes… Present on the site on Friday morning, the mayor of Saint-Firmin Georges Lacour does not hide his satisfaction: “There are still a few small improvements to be made at the inside the room, such as the installation of fire extinguishers and a defibrillator which will be installed at the beginning of September…”. If the interior fittings of the covered sports ground are finished, revealing a superb sports hall with an area of 660m2, equipped in particular for the practice of tennis, futsal and handball, it will be necessary to wait until September 2023 for its availability to small school children from Saint-Firmin who will be able to evolve there throughout the year. We also know that several sports associations in the village and surrounding towns have contacted the town hall to obtain time slots in September to practice their discipline. The Breuil tennis club is certainly in the ranks, an association of badminton players is formed, we also talk about futsal in leisure within the sports association of Saint-Firmin, the Country Love association of Saint-Firmin , the Saint-Sernin Sports Union and even the local rugby club (RCFSB).
For this equipment, the expenses remain within the €950,000 budgeted for this year, all works combined with architects’ fees, safety and technical checks, soil studies… had recently specified the mayor of the town . Reminder: the covered sports ground is located on Chemin du Theurot d’Ardon. This structuring facility will be inaugurated on September 23 in the morning. An “open door” will follow in the afternoon for the inhabitants of Saint-Firmin wishing to discover it. The next meeting of the municipal council scheduled for September 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the town hall will be an opportunity to discuss all this.
