A great performance was achieved by a delegation of judokas from the municipal schools of Comodoro Rivadavia, in what was the Open Tournament “Copa Hikari” that took place in Viedma, province of Río Negro.
In the competition, which took place last weekend, the Comodorans finished second in the general table with 17 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze medals.
Great harvest of Comodorenses medals in the Judo Open in Viedma
With judokas from the Municipal Gymnasium No. 1, Municipal No. 3, Municipal No. 4 and the Huergo club, the Comodorense delegation, on August 19 and 20, was part of the “Copa Hikari” open judo tournament, which was held at the Sports Center Gymnasium ” Ángel Cayetano Arias”, from the city of Viedma.
Judo from Comodoro in the categories School A and B, Children A and B, Cadets, Kyu Novices, Kyu Graduates, Seniors and Veterans, achieved a great participation, staying second in the general table by sum of points, with a total of 60 medals; 17 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze.
In addition, two fifth places and two seventh places were awarded. The delegation, of 48 judokas, was accompanied by Comodoro Deportes and the General Directorate of Sports.
The teachers in charge of the municipal schools were: Aldana Smart and Juan Manquecheo (Municipal 1), Verónica Arroqui, Claudia Acosta and Carlos Vásquez (Municipal 3), Matías Nieto (Municipal 4) and Florencia Fernández (Club Huergo), together with the Referee Lucas Fernandez.
From the city’s judo team they thanked “Hernán Martínez (Comodoro Deportes), Martín Gurisich (General Directorate of Sports), because they helped us so that we could travel.”
