Manchester City, defending champion and with two Argentines, Julián Álvarez and Máximo Perronewill visit promoted Burnley this Friday in the match that will kick off the English Premier League, in a new season with 13 Argentines, six of them world champions in Qatar 2022.
The match will be played at the Turf Moor stadium, in the city of Burnley in Lancashire, starting at 4:00 p.m. (Argentina time) with ESPN and Star+ television.
Manchester City is also the current winner of the Champions League and great favorite to win his eighth Premierthe most prestigious national tournament that has been played since the 1992/93 season when the clubs decided to split from the Football League.
In the new season the Premier League will have 14 Argentines, 13 footballers and a coach, Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.
Alvarez and Perrone are joined by Emiliano Martinez and Buendía (Aston Villa), Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United), Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso and Alejo Veliz (Tottenham Hotspur), Alexis MacAllister (Liverpool) and Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea), Marco Senesi (Bournemouth) and Facundo Buonanotte (Brigthon).
Of them, Julián Álvarez, “Dibu” Martínez, Lisandro Martínez, Enzo Fernández, Mac Allister and Romero were part of the Argentine team that won its third world cup in Qatar 2022.
Two issues to consider. Buendía suffered torn ligaments in one knee and he will miss much of the season at Aston Villa and the youthful Véliz at Tottenham will benefit from the very possible departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, since will be a substitute for the Brazilian Richarlison, gaining opportunities to play.
