Chelsea FC have won the race for the services of Moisés Caicedo. The Londoners announced the signing of the Ecuadorian. The 21-year-old is the most expensive player in Premier League history. Liverpool FC are left behind.
The record move in English football by Moisés Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion to Chelsea is perfect. As the London football club announced on Monday evening, the 21-year-old midfielder has signed an eight-year contract with an option for a further year at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool FC, who, according to coach Jürgen Klopp, had already reached an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion, are left empty-handed.
Nothing was officially announced about the transfer fee. Recently, the portal “The Athletic” reported that Chelsea would pay 115 million pounds (around 133 million euros) including bonus payments to Brighton and Hove Albion. As a result, Caicedo is the most expensive signing in Premier League history.

Klopp’s tip against Chelsea
After Caicedo’s transfer to the Londoners became more and more apparent, Klopp addressed the duel for the coveted player at the weekend on the sidelines of the direct clash between the two teams in the Premiere League (1-1). “A transition takes time if you don’t have endless amounts of money, otherwise you can basically change everything overnight and bring in ten players,” he couldn’t resist a dig at Klopp.
