Charlotte Hornets Unveil “Classic Edition” Uniform for 35th Anniversary Season

Waiting for the start of a new NBA season, which will kick off with the two opening night games scheduled for October 24th, several teams are already starting to present the uniforms that will be the protagonists of the next season.

This time it’s the turn of the Charlotte Hornets who presented the new uniform today “Classic Edition” to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the first season in the league for the North Carolina franchise.

The new shirt of the Hornets features an aqua green design with vertical green, white and purple stripes and pays homage to the iconic uniforms worn by Baron Davis & Co. (chosen as testimonial together with the new face of the Hornets LaMelo Ball) in the seasons ranging from 1997 to 2002. On the chest, however, there is the classic white Charlotte writing.
The president of the franchise Fred Whitfield presented the new uniform with the following words:

“We are pleased to introduce a new Classic Edition uniform for you to wear as part of our celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Charlotte Hornets’ inaugural season. Throughout our history, the Hornets have been recognized for their various uniform designs and we know our fans will be thrilled to see a return to the Charlotte hardwood look that our team wore from 1997 to 2002.”

The coaching team Steve Clifford is expected to wear the Classic Edition uniforms for a total of eight home games this season to celebrate the evolution of the franchise from 1988 to the present.
