Certaldesi archers on the throne of Italy. They are national champions having imposed themselves in the national championship by city (and test of the national championship ‘Lam’, Lega Arcieri Medioevali) which took place in Contigliano, a suggestive town with a medieval flavor near Rieti. Already last year the event had aroused a lot of interest, for this last Sunday starting at 9.30 – as an ‘appetizer’ of the celebrations of the historic event “Assault on the Castle” – Contigliano made a real ‘full immersion’ in the Middle Ages welcoming extras and 160 archers in traditional costume from all over Italy. The teams of archers competed in a national archery competition on the ‘Lam’ circuit. Other times, the Certaldo team has grabbed good results. From Contigliano this time Certaldo came out as national champion, immediately applauded by the mayor Giacomo Cucini, also on social media: “They are Italian champions in the national championship of cities. My sincere congratulations to the Certaldo archers, we are proud of them and proud to have a such an important activity in the area, an ancient and fascinating sport”.
