It’s a little tennis sensation!
Caroline Wozniacki (33) is fighting an incurable disease, but is in the 3rd round of the US Open. Late Wednesday evening (local time) she surprisingly defeated number 11 in the world, Petra Kvitova (33), 7: 5, 7: 6 (7: 5).

“It’s incredible to be back. My husband and I have so many memories of New York. He also played for the Knicks. If someone had told me three years ago that I would ever play one of those courts again at the US Open and beat number 11, I wouldn’t have believed it,” said the winner.

The crowd at the world’s largest tennis stadium, Arthur Ashe Stadium, gave her their full support without being unfair to Kvitova. The Czech, who won Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014, was also celebrated for her performance.
In the third round on Friday, Wozniacki now has to face American Jennifer Brady (28), who has not played for two years.
