Eiting initiates arbitration proceedings to force a transfer to FC Twente

Carel Eiting has filed an arbitration case against FC Volendam, De Telegraaf reports based on sources around the player. The midfielder has set his sights on a transfer to FC Twente, but does not yet have to count on the cooperation of his current employer. Eiting hopes to get his way through an arbitration case. The case should take place next Thursday.
Eiting reported sick on Friday for the season opener against Vitesse (1-2 loss) and was therefore absent for the second time in a short time. The captain is clearly aiming for a departure and has set his sights on a departure for FC Twente. Eiting has already spoken several times with technical director Arnold Bruggink and has already reached an agreement on personal terms.

The transfer soap around Eiting has been going on for a while. The left leg would love to take the next step and will get that opportunity at Twente. However, Volendam would rather not lose its seasoning and is only satisfied with the main prize. The first offer from Twente therefore went down the wrong way in the fishing village. According to those involved, Volendam and Eiting agreed last year to let everyone benefit from a transfer.
Lower limit
In order to collect the highest possible transfer fee, club and player reportedly agreed on a best efforts obligation. There would also have been a duty of confidentiality about the lower limit of 400,000 euros, De Telegraaf writes. That amount would only apply as an emergency measure if Volendam were exceptionally high in the boom.
To further boost the asking price, the club lifted an option in Eiting’s contract. As a result, the playmaker would not be stuck in the Kras Stadium until mid-2024, but mid-2025. Twente reportedly already offered 400,000 euros to buy off Eiting’s one-year contract. Volendam wants to see at least a few million. The club is now particularly frustrated about the fact that the Eiting camp has ignored the confidentiality agreement and the best efforts obligation.
According to the Eiting camp, however, the extension is not legally valid. It could only be extended at the end of this season, subject to certain conditions. In the midst of it all, Eiting reported sick to Volendam at the end of July. After three days he returned to the training field. Eiting seemed so ‘normal’ to appear at the kick-off against Vitesse. This week he told ESPN to ‘focus completely on Volendam’. However, he let his team show up without him and saw the opening of the season lost 1-2 to excess.

“Since Carel just participated in the entire training week and was part of the last training, it was a surprise that he signed out,” said trainer Matthias Kohler in front of the ESPN camera. “But as a trainer you have to be prepared for everything. With me you can assume that I had prepared and worked out between five and ten scenarios. Also one without Carel. But I was not prepared for the way it went.”
