BEETSTERZWAAG The quality of life in the countryside is the theme of the Henk Aalderink Prize 2023. The P10 municipalities call on photographers to capture the ears, eyes and hands of a liveable countryside.

The photo chosen by the jury as the winner is good for a prize of 2,000 euros. You can submit until Sunday 15 October.

The photo competition was created for the villagers, volunteer organizations and cooperation partners of the 31 rural municipalities where the P10 is active, including the municipality of Opsterland.

The Henk Aalderink Prize is named after Henk Aalderink, former mayor of Bronckhorst and founder of the P10 partnership in 2008. The prize was created to show the strength of the countryside to the rest of the Netherlands.

Chance makers are photos that are about pride and solidarity in the countryside, agricultural innovation and quality of life in the future, and photos that show the space and dynamics in the countryside. Jury chairman Lydia van Santen: “Whether it concerns a special neighborhood initiative, thriving farm or a lively community, we are looking for photos that capture the essence of a liveable countryside.”

Submissions, including the name of the photographer, the location of the photo and a short explanation must be received before Sunday 15 October 2023 via [email protected]. Additional images, explanations and videos are welcome. A professional jury judges the photos. This jury consists of professional photographer Ivo Hutten, program leader ‘Every region counts’ at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations Saskia Franssen and Strategic advisor P10 and jury chair Lydia van Santen.
