Caldas Aims to Improve Medal Ranking in National Intercollegiate Games

Caldas has been fourth in the general medal table of the National Intercollegiate Games for the last two years.

It has done so behind the great powers: Valle del Cauca, Antioquia and Bogotá.

Governor Luis Carlos Velásquez stressed this last Wednesday at the presentation of the XXII National and VI Paranational Sports Games in Termales el Otoño.

The president said that the final preparation of Caldas athletes for the Games is guaranteed and the support for the schoolboys who will go to the regional finals and the national final.

“That resource is guaranteed,” he said when asked about the guarantees for both delegations.

The Games are currently in their Municipal phase.

Football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, track and field, table tennis, field tennis, badminton, chess, wrestling, judo, taekwondo, weightlifting, fencing, boccia, boxing, karate, cheerleading, skating, handball, gymnastics, cycling, triathlon, shuffleboard and underwater activities.
