If you’ve always wanted to try a certain sport, you’ve come to the right place at “Bornaktiv”. The eleventh edition of this sports day is being invited to Borna’s Rudolf Harbig Stadium.

Borna. The spectrum of sports that participants can try out on Sports Day at the Rudolf Harbig Stadium ranges from fishing to Zumba. The event, which is now taking place for the eleventh time, is a mixture of presentation and invitation from the Borna sports clubs. Interested parties are welcome on August 26, from 2 to 6 p.m.

“The clubs should have a platform,” says Henry Kunze, chairman of the canoe and hockey club SV Blau-Gelb Borna. He belongs to the working group Sport, which is behind the event. It sees itself as representing the interests of the communities.

The aim of the Day of Sports is to arouse interest in various sports that are organized in Borna. In previous years up to 1000 visitors came to this. The origins of the one-day event date back to 2011.

Visitors can try their hand at boules and boxing
On the Saturday, visitors can try out boules and boxing as well as martial arts such as judo and karate, as well as football, handball and cycle ball. Hockey is also part of the offer. The Borna pedal pirates, who pedal for a good cause every year, and the traffic patrol are also on site. For the younger offspring there is a handicraft street and face painting.
