Bordeaux bring down Amiens – L’Équipe

It was not obvious after a sluggish first period during which the Bordeaux players too often seemed disconnected from each other, but the Girondins ended up taking the best of Amiens (2-0), this Saturday, and pushed back temporarily the questions that accompanied a laborious start to the season.

The good entry of Vipotnik

The turning point of the meeting occurred at the end of the first period when Zan Vipotnik replaced Aliou Badji, injured (45th). Interesting but ineffective in Pau (0-3) on the first day, the Slovenian international had started the last three matches on the bench, and it only took two minutes after returning from the locker room to put the Bordelais on good tracks (47th). His shot from the left, after a raid by Yoann Barbet, freed the Girondins and forced the Amiens to discover more. The goal of the break was scored nine minutes later by Gaëtan Weissbek (56th) while Davitashvili had already been very close to doubling the bet (50th, 51st).

In an armchair, the formation led by David Guion was able to control the debates with the only fear of a strike from Mafouta repelled by Straczek (64th). It even took little for it to increase the addition but Vipotnik’s attempt was repelled by the crossbar of Gurtner (76th). Thanks to this second success of the season, the Bordelais took the opportunity to temporarily move into sixth place while waiting for the other matches of this fourth day. Undefeated so far, Amiens could drop from the podium depending on the results of its competitors.
