The 2.06 meter tall Big Man enjoyed his basketball training at the highest level in the Real Madrid youth program. In Oostende, Belgium, the jumper Sylla gained his first experience in the Champions League over two years at his first professional station. He recommended himself in the 2021/2022 season on his stop at Kėdainiai Nevezis in Lithuania as the league’s top rebounder and a very convincing performance in the dress of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Summer League for a move to Seville.

Born in the Senegalese capital of Dakar, the talented Amar Sylla chose the path to Europe in 2016 and was trained by Real Madrid over three years as a youth. However, the then 18-year-old dared his first steps in the professional field in the Belgian port city of Oostende, where he was able to play 32 competitive games in both the league and the Champions League in his first season and scored almost 7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game was an important part of the master rotation. The following year, Sylla was able to confirm his values and even add domestic cup competition to the defense of the Belgian Championship. There was no championship to celebrate with Kėdainiai Nevezis next season, but the Senegalese was voted the best rebounder in the Lithuanian league with an average of 7.7 rebounds and also set a career high with 11.1 points. These ideas paved the way for him to Andalusia. In a difficult season that ended with Betis Sevilla being relegated on the final day, Amar Sylla averaged 3.2 points and rebounds per game in 13 minutes. This summer, Sylla appeared in the NBA Summer League for the third time in a row and drew attention to herself, especially last year, with 10.2 points and 4.0 rebounds in five games.
