At the end of July, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner were tied up and robbed in their house. Apparently fellow player Julian Draxler would have been the next victim. The French police prevented the act shortly before it was carried out. Arrests were made.

That was close. The French police have apparently foiled a robbery at the home of German midfielder Julian Draxler from the capital club Paris Saint-Germain. After indications of a suspicious car from which the house in the Paris suburb of Saint-Cloud was spied on, investigators lay in wait, the newspaper “Le Parisien” reported on Tuesday, referring to the investigators. As the broadcaster RMC Sport learned, seven occupants of two cars were arrested on Tuesday night.

Gloves, balaclavas and plastic shackles were found on the men. The newspaper reported that the seven suspects had been taken into police custody on suspicion of forming a criminal organization. No traces of a break-in were found in the house of 29-year-old Draxler.

It was not until the end of July that the Paris apartment of Italy’s national soccer goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was broken into. The PSG player and his partner Alessia Elefante were tied up by the perpetrators and Donnarumma was also beaten. In recent years, a number of PSG players have been the target of robbers.

Draxler before change

In terms of sport, things are not going well for the German in the French capital either. In the 0-0 start against Lorient, Draxler was not in the squad. It is considered likely that the former Schalke and Wolfsburg player will change clubs this summer. Last season he was loaned to Benfica Lisbon.

In addition to Lionel Messi, who has already changed, and Neymar, who is about to be sold, Marco Verratti (30), Hugo Ekitike (21) and former Bayern professional Juan Bernat (30) no longer have a future with the French soccer champions, like those responsible already declared before the start of the season. The future of superstar Kylian Mbappé is still uncertain.
