COPENHAGEN – Badminton players Selena Piek and Robin Tabeling have been eliminated in the second round of the mixed doubles at the World Championships. They lost to Dejan Ferdinansyah and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja from Indonesia: 0-2 (14-21 13-21).
Piek and Tabeling were cleared for the first round of the global title fight in Copenhagen. They captured the European title in mixed doubles at the beginning of last month.
Debora Jille and Cheryl Seinen reached the second round of the women’s doubles. The duo was too strong for Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam from India in the first round with 21-14, 11-21 and 21-14.
