Asian Tour David Puig escapes to St Andrews

After the second round of the St Andrews Bay Championship, the Spaniard David Puig is alone in the lead at -14. He is ahead of Jaco Ahlers (-13), the rest of the top 10 is at -10.

They were six in the lead at the end of the first lap, only David Puig remains at the time of the cut. Jaco Ahlers (2nd at -13), Mito Pereira, Andrew Dodt (3rd at -10), Anirban Lahiri and Veer Ahlawat (15th at -7) all conceded ground this Friday on the Spaniard. After a first card of 66 (-6), the young player from La Garriga improved his score in the second. The 21-year-old birdied nine against a single bogey (-8) to break away at -14 overall.

“I still played well. I didn’t start very well, but after the 5 I almost made every putt I had to make. I am very happy with my game”, is satisfied the one who finished his game on four consecutive birdies.
