Anthony Davis Signs Record-Breaking Contract Extension with Los Angeles Lakers

According to what Adrian Wojnarowski reports fromESPNLos Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has agreed to a record three-year contract extension worth $186 million.

Averaging $62 million a year, it’s the highest annual value contract in NBA history.

Davis, 30, still has two years and $84 million left on his current deal and will therefore be tied to the Lakers until the end of the 2027-2028 season. He will receive a total of $270 million by the end of his new contract.

Acquired from the New Orleans Pelicans in 2019, Davis helped the Lakers win their 17th title in their first season with the team in 2020.

In his first four seasons in Los Angeles, he averaged 24.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, three assists and 2.1 blocks in 194 games.

Led by Davis and LeBron James, the Lakers reached the Western Finals in the last playoffs.
