Michiel Kramer may have to pay for the cheer after his goal against AZ with a suspension. While celebrating the goal, he would have made an obscene gesture towards the Alkmaar fans. The professional football prosecutor of the KNVB has now started a preliminary investigation.
Kramer opened the score from the penalty spot five minutes before half-time on Sunday. He then made the gesture with his hand. He later stated to ESPN’s cameras that he was portraying the popping of a bottle of champagne.
“I’m not going to say anything else about it, otherwise we’re going to get that again. But do you know what we all hear from the supporters, don’t you?”, said the striker afterwards.
