Angelica Moser Clinches Gold at FISU World University Games with Season’s Best Jump

Angelica Moser lived up to her favorite role. With a jump of 4.62 meters, the Swiss business administration master’s student confidently secured the gold medal at the FISU World University Games in Chengdu (China) and at the same time improved her season’s record of 4.61m. The two French and one Chinese athlete shared second place with a rating of 4.30m. For Team Suisse it is the second medal at the international games after Gioia Vetterli’s bronze medal in judo.

Moser comments happily: «I am very happy that I can bring home the gold medal, that was a clear goal. And it’s my best of the season, which shows the form is going in the right direction. It wasn’t an easy competition with the heat and the many jumps, but it was worth it.”

With her participation in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo and again first place at this year’s Swiss Indoor Championships, pole vaulter Angelica Moser was considered a hot contender for a medal. Just last weekend she confirmed her outstanding form with the seventh title in a row at the Swiss Championships in Bellinzona. The athlete jumped to victory with a height of 4.55m.
