Andre Onana admits mistake after being hit from the middle of the field

Manchester

Andre Onana conceded a shot from the middle of the field when Manchester United met RC Lens. MU’s new goalkeeper admitted his mistake.

MU hosted RC Lens in a test match at Old Trafford, Saturday (5/8/2023) evening WIB. The Red Devils ended the duel with a 3-1 victory.

Lens took the lead through Florian Sotoca’s goal. MU replied with goals from Marcus Rashford, Antony and Casemiro.

The process of Lens’s goal is arguably ridiculous. Diogo Dalot gave the wrong pass in the middle of the field which Sotoca immediately grabbed at Manchester United’s goal.

Sotoca’s long-range shot went past the reach of Andre Onana who rushed out of position. He tried to run for the ball, but his efforts were in vain.

Some fans blame Dalot for making mistakes that lead to goals. On the one hand, many also accused Onana of blunders because he came out of his net.

Onana spoke about Sotoca’s goal after the MU vs Lens match. He took responsibility for the mistake that led to the Red Devils’ goal being conceded.

“I’m happy for this win. Of course we can always be better,” Onana told IN TV.

“There are some things we have to improve. As I always say, I am responsible for everything, especially when we concede goals,” he continued.

“I’m proud of what my defenders do. I’m a big man at the back so I take all the criticism, all the pressure on me.”

“It was a great match for me and the players, some important goals and I’m happy for all of them,” said Andre Onana.
