Alek Manoah Traded to Buffalo Bisons following Tough Game

After a tough game the day before, Alek Manoah (3-9) was traded by the Toronto Blue Jays to the Buffalo Bisons in the Triple A on Friday.

The 25-year-old right-hander pitched four innings in the Blue Jays’ 4-3 loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday. He allowed four hits and four runs to suffer a ninth loss in 2023.

“It was the same message we’ve been giving him all year,” manager John Schneider said. Make your motion strong. There was progress when he came back to what we observed; his breaking ball, his fastball control, so he has to keep working on those things. »

After starting the season with a 1-7 record, the 6-foot-6 giant was traded in Florida Complex League, a rookie league, in June. In his first start with the Jays’ farm club, he allowed 10 hits and 11 runs in 2.2 innings of work.

Since then, the right-handed ace has gradually recovered, but not enough to the taste of manager John Schneider, explaining a second stay in the minors.

In six starts following his recall to the majors in early July, Manoah has posted a record of two wins and two losses. He allowed 16 earned runs, allowed 25 hits and passed 31 batters in the mitt in just over 29 innings of work.

In conjunction with his dismissal, the Blue Jays recalled right-handed pitcher Hagen Danner.
