Ajax has completed the arrival of Gaston Avila for more than 12 million euros. With the arrival of the Argentinian left back, the future of Owen Wijndal or Anass Salah-Eddine could well change.

Although Avila can also play centrally on the left, the Argentinian is really brought in for the left flank, it reports General Daily newspaper. “Ajax sees the Argentinian, who sometimes operated as a central defender in his own country, mainly as a left back.”

The left back position is currently a source of discussion at Ajax, as Steijn does not seem to be satisfied with the current interpretation. He confirmed this once again last weekend, when he was not satisfied with both Salah-Eddine and Wijndal after the duel with Excelsior. “It is likely that one of them will leave Ajax – temporarily or not – after the arrival of Avila.”
