End of summer 2023 in FIBA training tournaments. As every year, the women’s European U16 has put the icing on the cake for two months of competition, with France being crowned for the second time in a row and Ainhoa Risacher raising the last of the eight MVP’s of the hot season.

The lanky French player was the most decisive of the champion team, averaging 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 15.7 efficiency per game.
Risacher, whose official height is 1.87m, is an outside player as complete as she is elegant in her penetrations. With a notable impact on both sides of the court, the Frenchwoman takes advantage of her great size to change numerous rival shots, she runs the court with ease, manages the times well in attack and has a suggestive shot from medium and long distance. Both for her success that she shows today and for the potential improvement that is seen in her, as well as in her defensive movements or ball handling.
Daughter of former Olympian Stéphane Risacher, champion of the Copa del Rey with Unicaja in 2005, Ainhoa was born during his father’s journey at the Polaris World CB Murcia. Two years after he came into the world his brother Zaccharie (ASVEL, on loan in Bourg), projected for the highest positions in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Same as him, Ainhoa has been formed in the youth system of Tony Parker’s ASVEL. Without yet making her debut in the first team, the French forward competes in the club’s youth ranks and is part of a promising group of players who could have a few sporadic minutes with the professionals this coming season.
Despite his great impact in this European U16, this was not his first time in the championship. At the age of 15, Ainhoa Risacher was already part of the French National Team that won gold, signing her best performance in the quarterfinals against Italy. That day, one year younger than the rest, the forward went up to 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks and a PIR of 26.
