Agreement with Kahn – Sport

FC Bayern Munich and its former CEO Oliver Kahn have now contractually completed their separation in the championship final last season, which was initially accompanied by discord. This became known on the sidelines of the club’s Asia trip. “I was in contact with Oliver several times after the end of the season, we reached a harmonious agreement on terminating his contract,” said Herbert Hainer, President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, to Sportbild. Kahn was admitted to the Bayern board at the beginning of 2020. On July 1, 2021, the former international goalkeeper succeeded Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as CEO. His five-year contract would not have expired until the end of 2024. At the end of the season, however, he was released along with sports director Hasan Salihamidzic; the longstanding CFO Jan-Christian Dreesen took over the chief post. The severance payment for Kahn is said to be four to five million euros. For Hainer, Champions League winner Kahn remains “a Bayern legend”.
