A group of 35 players for the first training camp of the season in Marcoussis

Before officially launching their international season in the southern hemisphere where they will participate in the first edition of the Women XV (October 9-November 5 in New Zealand), Les Bleues will rehearse their ranges in their Marcoussis cocoon. The staff of the XV of France unveiled, this Friday, the list of 35 players called to participate in the first training course of the season at the national rugby center from August 5 to 23.

This reunion should serve, initially, as a launching pad for this competition launched by Word Rugby where the six best nations of rugby practiced by women will meet.

Sochat and Boujard absent

“This course will allow us to see and integrate into our group several players from the Olympic Academy that we had the opportunity to follow last season, commented the co-selector and coach of the XV of France women David Ortiz. We also have Mabinty Sylla and Carla Arbez joining the group of players under contract while we are going to have to deal with several injury packages for our players under contract. »

Among the absentees, two executives: Stade Bordelais hooker Agathe Sochat and Montpellier winger Caroline Boujard. Her club teammate, prop Rose Bernadou, and Blagnac prop Célia Domain are also on the flank. Marie Dupouy and Mélissande Llorens are called upon by France 7.
