65-Year-Old Italian Arrested for Robbery in Small Italian Town

From Caronno Pertusella to Cogliate to rob a pharmacy. The protagonist is a 65-year-old Italian, already under house arrest, who on the morning of Wednesday 9 August went in a stolen car to the small town in the Brianza area to carry out the robbery. When he entered the pharmacy, he threatened the pharmacist with a knife and asked for the proceeds (about 700 euros) to be handed over. Then he immediately walked away, losing track of him.

The frightened woman immediately called 112. A patrol from the Desio company rushed to the scene. The military, after having reassured the woman, immediately started the investigation. They viewed the images from the video surveillance cameras and collected the victim’s testimony that she told of the man in the baseball cap who pointed a yellow knife at her.

The research carried out between the provinces of Monza and Varese started immediately. A substantial device made up of 10 soldiers and 5 crews of the Desio carabinieri company, after about half an hour from the robbery, identified the man near the Saronno station, and then stopped him in Caronno Pertusella while he was returning home. The man had the knife and the 700 euros.

The investigators, reconstructing the exact dynamics of the facts, then discovered that the man used a stolen 500 during his travels, also used for the robbery and subsequently left in the parking lot of the Saronno station, to then continue his escape by train to at home (in Caronno Pertusella) in an attempt to go unnoticed. At the end of the investigations, coordinated first by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Busto Arsizio and subsequently by that of Monza competent for the area, the carabinieri arrested the 65-year-old in the act of committing a crime on charges of robbery and receiving stolen goods.
