(Gwangju = News 1) Reporter Kim Tae-seong = The 27th Korea-Japan Youth Sports Exchange Competition will be held in Gwangju Metropolitan City from the 9th to the 14th.
This competition, hosted by the Gwangju Sports Association, has been held by country since 1997 for the purpose of promoting friendship and understanding between the two countries, providing youth with various cultural experiences and promoting sports cooperation.
The Japanese team consists of 208 players in 5 sports from Tokushima Prefecture (soccer, volleyball) and Okayama Prefecture (basketball, table tennis, badminton). In Gwangju, 218 athletes from 25 schools, including Usan Elementary School, Bangrim Elementary School, Munhwa Middle School, and Mudeung Middle School, will participate in the exchange competition.
This match, which has been held normally for the first time in four years, will be held in joint training, practice matches, and official matches.
Sports include soccer (Boramae Soccer Field), volleyball (Bitgoeul Gymnasium), table tennis (Donglim Multipurpose Gymnasium), badminton (Gwangju Metropolitan City Sports Center), and basketball (Elementary Chosun University, Middle School Gwangju University).
The Japanese delegation participating in the exchange exhibition is scheduled to visit the Asian Culture Center and the City Art Museum, and on the 11th, they plan to donate the kimchi they made in Gwangju Kimchi Town to an orphanage.
