Voorburg – For the 22nd time, the new Leidschendam and Voorburg cultural season will be opened on Saturday, August 26 at the Kon Julianaplein in Voorburg during the Cultural Summer Festival. the opening will be performed by alderman for culture Marcel Belt
All activities will take place in and around the De Julianabaan shopping center as usual. Numerous cultural and sporting associations from Voorburg, Leidschendam and Stompwijk will present themselves at the culture market, which this year has 50 stalls. Another important part of the festival is the musical part. This year the organization has once again succeeded in putting together an attractive programme, divided over three stages, with something for everyone. Many musical acts from Voorburg and Leidschendam will perform there, such as the bands Straight life, Green House, Big Caz, Projektje and Timber. The pop choirs Focusen Rebound are also present again. There is also a large inflatable church with a fundraising campaign for the Food Bank.
Youth Square
During the Cultural Summer Festival on Saturday 26 August, SenW organizes the Youth Square especially for children with all kinds of fun activities and performances for residents of Leidschendam-Voorburg as part of the fun day. The Youth Square takes place on the square next to McDonalds. In attendance are Scouting Sint Maarten Hildegard, Dansschool Creasi, Beweegkriebels, Muziekschool Voorburg, Circus Kabel, Badminton BCV, The Dance Factory and GoedBezig! and Youth work of SenW. In this way, parents and children come into contact with sports and cultural providers from the municipality, where children can try out different activities and who knows, end up at a fun association or organization where they want to become a member. For the various associations and organizations that are present, it is a great way to show what they stand for as an association / organization and how much fun it is. Activities are free and you don’t have to register anywhere.
”We hope to provide residents with a fun day and especially to introduce children to the fun sporting and creative-cultural offer in Leidschendam-Voorburg.
