Zag³êbie Lubin close to winning the Polish champion. Waiting for the “green light” Football

Zagłębie Lubin is doing very well in the summer transfer window. The sports director of the club, Piotr Burlikowski, is making reinforcements that should allow Waldemar Fornalik’s team to have a much calmer season in the upper part of the league table than in previous seasons.

The purchase of Dawid Kurminowski (Aarhus) who has been on loan so far, the extension of the contract of Sokratis Dioudis, and the signing of Damian Dąbrowski (Pogoń Szczecin), Juan Munoz (Leganes), Marek Mróz (Resovia) and Michał Nalepa (Lechia Gdańsk) should make the fans of “Copper” they will not have to worry about the attitude of their team in the upcoming competitions.

Mateusz Wdowiak very close to Zagłębie Lubin. Waiting for the “green light”

And that’s not all, because the winger of Rakowa Częstochowa, Mateusz Wdowiak, is already in the starting blocks to strengthen Zagłębie Lubin. The fact that the 26-year-old can strengthen Lubin was first written by the Mieczyki.pl portal, while our information shows that this transfer is already agreed on from all sides. Sam Wdowiak would like to join Waldemar Fornalik’s team and is just waiting for his current club to agree to it, which will probably download his successor in the coming days.

Wdowiak is a graduate of Cracovia, who in 2021 moved to Raków Częstochowa, with whom he won the Polish championship, two silver medals, two cups and two Polish Super Cups. His achievements last season included 40 official matches, in which he scored six goals and made four assists. In the Ekstraklasa, he can boast of 205 matches, 18 goals and 26 assists. He will move to Zagłębie on a cash transfer basis.

Wdowiak will be the last reinforcement of Zagłębie Lubin in the near future, unless the injury of the left defender Luis Mata, who is waiting for tests, turns out to be more serious. If Mata leaves Zagłębie for longer, the club will look for someone else on the left side of the defense, and then it will calmly wait and react to what will happen next in the transfer window, which will last until the beginning of September.

In Lubin, there are no plans for further departures. Although it was said that after the transfer of Michał Nalepa, another stopper Jarosław Jach may leave, but for now we hear that the experienced defender is to fight for a place in the Waldemar Fornalik team.

There is also little indication of the departure of the talented Tomasz Pieńka. The not-so-successful European Under-19 Championships of this player made him believe that it was too early for him to go abroad. The plan for Pieńka is similar to that of Łukasz Łakomy (now Young Boys Bern) a year ago – to consolidate his position in the league in the colors of Zagłębie and only then look for a transfer to a better club.

Zagłębie Lubin will start the 2023/24 season on Sunday, July 23, when it will face newly promoted Ruch Chorzów at home.
