The wait is finally over!
Today (10.30 a.m. German time, ZDF live) our World Cup women are finally getting started – kick-off against Morocco.
But with which staff?
National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg (55) makes a big secret of this. Background: With Lena Oberdorf (21, thigh), Sjoeke Nüsken (22, lateral ligament strain) and Marina Hegering (33, bruised heel), three defensive players of the DFB are injured.

It is logical that at the press conference before the start of Morocco they were asked about their chances of being deployed.
First the question about Hegering.
Voss-Tecklenburg: “Marina is on the mend. Is that enough for you?”
Reporter’s response: “No.”
MVT: “You saw it. It’s slowly improving and is on the mend. That’s our pleasure.”

A little later she is asked again about the personnel situation in the squad. This time it’s about Oberdorf and Nüsken.
The national coach completely blocks it: “Today I won’t say anything about the squad and the line-up. The opponent can think about that a little longer.”
When asked if she only wants to use players who are at 100 percent so as not to risk anything, she responds briefly. Says: “That’s basically smart and makes sense.” Then she smiles: “We want to do more than win a game.”

By the way: All three players started the final training. At Oberdorf it looks best with one starting place.
As planned, backup Janina Minge (24) will return home (BILD reported).
Voss-Tecklenburg: “If nothing happens, as agreed, Janina will travel home after the game.”
