Wimbledon: Carlos Alcaraz defeats Novak Djokovic in final – Sport

The last ball of the evening, which Novak Djokovic hit, flew into the net. Then the regime change was sealed. Carlos Alcaraz, 20 years and 72 days young, dropped, jumped up and triumphantly kicked the small yellow tennis ball into the crowd, in the style of a goalscorer. Shortly afterwards he received the gold trophy. He is now the man who dethroned the record Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic: number one in the world, Wimbledon winner, the youngest champion since Boris Becker (1985) and Björn Borg (1976).
