New official bank of Wimbledon from this 2023 edition, Barclays will be clearly visible during matches on the main courts, by appearing in large form on the referees’ chairs, facing the camera.
On the Center Court in particular, the Barclays logo will therefore be “strongly” exposed to the eyes of the millions of viewers who will follow the 3rd grand slam of the season. Especially at Wimbledon, the presence of the partners is not obvious unlike other Grand Slam tournaments. The few sponsors to be visible on the court are discreet with small logos, this is particularly the case for Slazenger on the bottom tarp.
In the past, on the umpires’ chair, you usually had to wait for a close-up to see the Robinsons and Slazenger logos. The first has not been a sponsor of the tournament since 2022 and the second is still so as the official ball, a partnership presented the oldest in the history of the sport which has lasted for… 121 years. Logos that were no longer visible in 2022 as Center Court celebrated 100 years with a new umpire’s chair.

As a reminder, Barclays succeeds HSBC to the rank of “official bank”. During the formalization of this new contract, Wimbledon recalled that Barclays had already been a partner of the tournament in the 1960s, with in particular the presence of a Barclays bank under the stands of the Center Court.
For this edition, Barclays will offer some on-site activations with hospitality venues dedicated spaces offering entertainment and benefits to Barclays customers.
At the same time, Barclays also produced a commercial highlighting its ambassador Frances Tiafoe.
