Willy Hernangómez is a grateful guyand just before starting preparations for the next World Cup with the Spanish team, he sent a message of thanks to his last franchise and its fans, the New Orleans Pelicans, after deciding to continue his professional career in Europe with Barça.
“It’s been an incredible three years,” he said. “When I signed for the team in 2020, during the Covid and the uncertain times that were coming, I never doubted that New Orleans would be my home and that the city would feel like my own,” he explained.
“It has been my longest tenure with a team and I have enjoyed it all.. The fans and the family of the Pelicans have made me feel at home and I have friendships that will last a lifetime, ”he commented after thanking all the franchise staff for the treatment received.
“Now a new adventure begins in my country but I will always have you in my heart”ended the letter from Willy, who is leaving the NBA to start the exciting project with Barça for the next three seasons.
