Are you about to start a marathon, maybe even in Berlin? In the WELT Club we are giving away 5×1 tickets for a short run and extensive talk with Uta Pippig. On September 16, the three-time winner of the Berlin marathon will be giving last-minute tips.

The countdown has begun, the time until the Berlin Marathon is now passing rapidly and suddenly it will be here: the day of the race. With all the anticipation, tension, excitement, with hope and maybe with the other person with worries because not everything went as hoped in the preparation. When the starting gun is fired on the morning of September 24th and more than 50,000 runners set out on the course, Uta Pippig will also be there. The three-time winner of the Berlin Marathon has been involved in the organization for many years.

Pippig, 57, is one of the most successful marathon runners of the 90s, not only winning three times in Berlin, but just as often in Boston. Today she lives in Berlin and in Boulder (Colorado), and with her organization Take The Magic Step she campaigns for more awareness in the areas of fitness, nutrition and health. Running is still her world: as a trainer, as an expert, as a speaker and as a WELT columnist. And of course she often runs herself. Maybe with you on September 16th?

We are very pleased that we were able to win Uta for an exclusive event with you for the second time. This time under the motto: Last-minute tips before your marathon. Of course it doesn’t matter whether you start in Berlin or at one of the many other races. WELT sports editor Melanie Haack will be there.

What will the day look like?

We welcome you at the beginning of the new Axel Springer building. Uta will be there from the start and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. A first round of talks – and then a short, easy run of 6-8 kilometers including warming up. And don’t worry: no one will be left behind. If the speeds are too different, there is always the possibility to split the small group in half, for example. Please bring your sports outfit with you or come dressed ready to go.

After the run, we will return to the new Axel Springer building, where we will end the running experience on the roof terrace with a view over Berlin and can ask you any further questions. Food and drinks will be provided.

You can also take a shower on site. If you would like to use the showers, we would ask you to bring your own towel and toiletries.

When and where will the event with Uta take place?

Date: Saturday 16 September
Admission: 11:30 a.m
End: around 4:30 p.m
Address: Axel Springer-Neubau, Zimmerstrasse 50, 10117 Berlin
