VfL talents bring three silver medals

Wolfsburg/Berlin. The Wolfsburg judoka Crina and Teodor Ababii as well as Alexander Haak each took second place in their class at the North Cup in Berlin.
Three Wolfsburg judoka were recently at the 10. Nord-Cup in Berlin included. A total of almost 600 fighters started at the mega-tournament, which was open to all age groups. The colors of VfL Wolfsburg represented the siblings Crina and Teodor Ababii and Alexander Haak. All three returned to the Autostadt with silver medals around their necks.
In the U15 age group alone, 170 participants walked the mat – including Teodor Ababii (65.1 kg) and Alexander Haak (52.6 kg). Teodor Ababii started in a group of three. In his first fight he was defeated, but in the second he forced his opponent to submit and won the silver medal.
Haak faced three opponents in his weight class. By throwing Ippon he defeated the first and also won the duel with his second opponent. However, the fight had to be fought twice after a wrong decision by the referee and subsequent lengthy discussions. Haak was not impressed by this hiccup, he showed nerves of steel and won. So in the last fight it was all about gold for him – and Haak initially took the lead with a Waza-Ari throw. But in the further course of the fight the opponent countered skillfully and won in the end. Haak got the silver medal.
Crina Ababii also met three opponents. She decided two fights prematurely with an ippon throw. The third fight, however, was lost by arbitration. She was also on the second highest level at the award ceremony and was awarded the silver medal.
Trainer Andrej Haak and VfL department manager Jacques Komosinski were satisfied with the performance of their protégés.
