The International Judo Tournament in the Glass Palace is one of the biggest sporting events of the year in Sindelfingen. It is a real mammoth task for the organizing VfL, but even after the 21st edition there is the realization that it was mastered with flying colors.
If, in addition to the big challenge trophy for the best team at the 21st International Judo Tournament in the Glaspalast, there was also an award for organization and teamwork – organizer VfL-Sindelfingen would have deserved it. 1700 foreign fighters from U11 and up from 22 countries plus 100 from the hosts exceeded all standards. Only at the end could department head Rene Schneider breathe a sigh of relief, stress and tension had paid off. It was also tolerable that the victory was left to Stichting Top Judo Nijmegen and that they had to be satisfied with seventh place in the overall standings.
