Venezuelan Basketball Coach Assesses Team’s Performance in First Friendly Match Ahead of 2023 World Cup

After the result of the first friendly match that the national basketball team will meet prior to its participation in the 2023 World Cup.

The Vinotinto basketball coach presented his balance of the match against Angola this Saturday, which culminated in a 66-61 defeat for Venezuela.

In statements shared by the Venezuelan Basketball Federation on its social networks, Duró assured that: “We began this stage of international matches with the sole objective of finding the best form for August 26 with the first game against Slovenia,” he said.

In turn, the Argentine coach said that each match of the seven friendly tour will be of great help to continue adapting and taking the best possible rhythm.

“We want to return to the international arena, to physical matches and get used to that again after four years that we have not played this type of match (…) This is highly positive, we will pick up the pace game by game,” he said.

For the national coach, it is important to go game by game and be able to test the field in which they are, which is why they rescue the importance of friendly matches.
