Venezuela made official its first list of eligible players that it could count on in its fifth participation in the next FIBA World Cup 2023, the list includes 21 members and could be modified until August 18, reported sports media.

The biggest novelty with respect to the previous pre-summons would be that of Luis Carrillo, who has not made a 12 for the National Team since the last window of the 2022 AmeriCup Qualifiers, played in Cali, Colombia, where he played a couple of minutes. The same days in which Andrés Marrero made his debut with the senior team, who has not been in a concentration again either.

Kender Urbina, Fabrizio Pugliatti and Enrique Medina, the youngest in the group, have already joined the team for the first time last year. While Franger Pirela, who stayed in the reserve in the sixth double date of the World Cup Qualifiers at the Poliedro, is the only one who has not yet been able to debut.

Another of those who did not see action during the pre-World Cup route was Anthony Pérez, whose last performance was in February 2020, in the first window on the way to the AmeriCup. He has appeared on different lists from previous months, but he has not managed to concentrate either.

Fernando Duró’s men have five friendly games on their agenda before landing in Okinawa, Japan, where they will share Group F with Slovenia, Cape Verde and Georgia. During the journey they will visit Spain (August 4, Madrid), France (August 7, Orleans) and will play the home run in Melbourne with Australia, South Sudan and Brazil between September 14 and 17.
