From the start Verstappen won the position from Hamilton, who also lost it in favor of the two McLarens, and from there it was a walk for the Dutchman, who is surely experiencing the most boring races of his sporting life. Verstappen’s race was boring and for the rest of the fans, few movements on the track and everything to be decided at the stops, which in the end left things as they were, once again with the exception of Ferrari. Error in Leclerc’s stop and doubts with Sainz, demonstrating that in the Italian team they do not bet on the man from Madrid, who continues to play second fiddle to a team that has not quite stood out and found a clear path of evolution either.
Something similar happens at Aston Martin. Although Fernando Alonso’s eighth position on the grid left no room for optimism, tire degradation problems have compromised the pace of a car that seems stagnant at a time when other teams have been able to improve the pace. Ferrari, although they are little ahead and McLaren have been on the podium for two grand prix with a Lando Norris that is already being raffled off for the big teams for next season.
The best of the comebacks of Checo Pérez and George Russell that they have given us some overtaking and excitement in the strategy, but little more can be scratched from a grand prix, and there are already a few, that we expected better results for ours.
