Tyreek Hill Sets Sights on Historic 2,000 Yard Season in NFL

Tyreek Hill already has a goal in mind for the next NFL season and if he wants to achieve it, it will not be easy. Hill expects to reach the plateau of 2,000 passing yards, a mark that has never been achieved so far.

It was on his podcast “It Needed to Be Said” that the Dolphins receiver confided his ambitions.

“I’m going to break the 2,000 yard mark next season. The 2,000 yard plateau is on my to-do list before I leave this league… 2,000 yards and another Super Bowl. We will have it, I believe in it, ”explained Hill in remarks which were later reported by Marcel Louis-Jacques ofESPN.

Clavin Johnson Jr. is the closest receiver to the impressive 2,000 passing yard mark. In 2012, he had totaled 1,964 yards through the air, a mark that remains unbeaten.

In 2021, Cooper Kupp joined Johnson in the 1,900 yard club with his career-high 1,947 yards.

Hill had the best season of his career in 2022, with 119 receptions and 1,710 passing yards. However, he was statistically outstripped by Justin Jefferson, who had collected 1809 yards.

Before the Dolphins struggled with injuries at quarterback last season, Hill was maintaining a pace that would have seen him hit the 2,000-yard plateau. He had 1,104 yards in just nine games.

“Last year, I was in full control. I was on the field and using my athletic ability. I was in ‘Here Tua mode [Tagovailoa], I’m going to be there and that’s what we’re going to do. Next year could be even crazier and not just for me,” Hill said in June.
