Transfer summer 2023: millions and millions between Munich, London and Paris

Bayern could invest up to 100 million for Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé is likely to be much more expensive – who has made the best cut on the Mercato so far? A tour of Europe’s exchange exchange.

Football is taking a break and yet hardly a day goes by without rumors in the increasingly heated transfer market. Big names circulate between the metropolises of Madrid, Paris, Munich and London – and if there is an execution, a transfer fee of more than 50 million euros is now almost standard. Players like Kylian Mbappe or Harry Kane, who are much more expensive, have been occupying the scene for weeks, but the background is often unclear.

Who moves where for how much? And why at all? That should be clarified in this issue of “And now to sport” – the SZ football talk takes a tour of the so-called Mercato with moderator Jonas Beckenkamp and his guests – this time the experts are the football flâneurs Martin Schneider and Felix Haselsteiner.

Soccer Bundesliga, Champions League, sports policy at Fifa and DFB: “And now to sports”, the soccer podcast of the Süddeutsche Zeitung, gives insights into the most important soccer topic of the week. Every Monday, SZ sports editors discuss the background to current events.
