Transfer rumors Matthäus: Bayern have to pay millions for Kane

Harry Kane is Bayern’s dream striker. But the transfer is still not through. For Matthäus it is clear: Munich must go to their pain threshold.
According to Lothar Matthäus, FC Bayern Munich must pay at least 100 million euros for Harry Kane’s request. Tottenham owner Daniel Levy has been in the business for a long time and has an idea of the transfer fee for the England captain.
“And it’s in the three-digit range. If this performance isn’t achieved, he’ll do it and not give up Kane. I assume that’s the case,” wrote the German record national player in his Sky column.
The German champion also said to Robert Lewandowski that the world footballer can go for a “sum X, which they then got. They didn’t let him go with the first or second offer either. Levy knows that too. It was known from the beginning negotiations about Harry Kane that you would need a lot of patience,” explained Matthäus (62).
Kane is a wish forward
According to a media report, Bayern could not convince Tottenham Hotspur with their second offer for star striker Kane either. After the English rejected the first Munich offer at the end of June, the improved offer of 80 million euros plus bonus payments should not impress the Premier League club, as the British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported on Monday. Accordingly, Kane should return to Tottenham training for the pre-season on Wednesday.
For Bayern, Kane’s commitment continues to have top priority. The biggest problem in transfer poker is Spurs boss Levy, who doesn’t want to let his goalscorer go. “Bayern have made it clear – also to the outside world – that Kane is their dream striker. The earlier it works, the better. But if you suddenly get nervous now and the other side notice it, Levy might say: ‘Okay, now it costs 110 million'”, said Matthew.

Former world champion Matthäus did not want to judge whether Kane would be worth this sum. He is one of the best strikers in the world, “a goal machine with an ice-cold finish. But one can discuss whether 100 million is the right price tag for an almost 30-year-old,” said Matthäus.
If Munich had extended Lewandowski by three years and given him a salary increase, “it would have been cheaper than the past unsatisfied year plus the amount that you now have to spend on Kane.” The multiple Bundesliga top scorer Lewandowski switched to FC Barcelona last summer.
