Tour de France: Julian Alaphilippe flashed by a radar during the last stage

When it comes to speeding (on a bike), the French rider is now a regular. Julian Alaphilippe has already been “flashed” at 99.5 km/h in the dizzying descent of the Col du Soudet on July 5, by the Tour radar. Today, rebelote, but by a completely different radar: a traffic. The former world champion (in 2020 and 2021) definitely descends faster than the rest of the peloton.

During the last stage of the Tour de France, this Sunday, between Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Paris, the rider of the Soudal Quick-Step team thus activated a radar located on the side of the road, usually flashing cars traveling over 50 km / h.

Despite this phenomenal speed, Julian Alaphilippe did not manage to win the stage. It was the Belgian Jordi Meeus who, by crossing the finish line first, scored the greatest success of his career. Dane Jonas Vingegaard won his second consecutive Tour de France.

As for Julian Alaphilippe, the coach of the France team Thomas Voeckler announced today that he was part of the selection for the Worlds which will take place on August 6 in Glasgow. Alongside Christophe Laporte, Valentin Madouas, Bryan Coquard, he will therefore defend the colors of France during the online event.
