The organizers of the Tour de France were quick to react. After the incident with the motorcycle, which blocked the road during the ascent of the Col de la Loze, preventing Jonas Vingegaard and Thibaut Pinot in particular from continuing their journey and losing precious seconds, the decision was made. France Télévision’s sound bike n° 312, piloted by Joël Chary and with Thomas Voeckler, will be excluded from the 18th stage of the Tour de France between Moutiers and Bourg-en-Bresse this Thursday.
The marshals noted a “breach of the regulatory provisions or directives concerning the circulation of vehicles in the race (non-compliance with the press specifications before the summit of the Col de la Loze)”.
The organizers also fined the two offenders 500 CHF (520 euros).
