They rescue in Angostura, Sinaloa, 16 day laborers who were kidnapped 6 months ago – El Sol de México

This Wednesday, July 12, after an unexpected operation, members of the Ministry of Public Security and Navy personnel rescued and released 16 farm laborers who had been deprived of their liberty for six months in the municipality of Angostura in the state of Sinaloa.

According to the Secretary of State Security, Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, two of the people who were kidnapped arrived at a Navy base in La Reforma, this to take them to the place where other people were allegedly kidnapped.

According to the testimony, they were deprived of their liberty near the Independencia neighborhood, in the mentioned municipality.

It was there that, around 4:50 p.m., the successful rescue of 14 more people was carried out. Supposedly, it was a rehabilitation center; of which, its manager was arrested by the authorities.

Given this, five individuals remained on the site, stating that they were there of their own free will, as their relatives referred them for their addiction problems.

The 16 people released were protected by the State Attorney General’s Office, while the person in charge of this center was made available to clarify any responsibility for the event.

The victims

The people affected are a total of 16 men between the ages of 17 and 57, from municipalities such as Mocorito, Guasave; or even from other states such as Sonora, Hidalgo, Colima, Puebla and Veracruz, who did work as day laborers against their will, some from four to six months.
