This provision, if passed, will allow the President of the Republic to dissolve the National Assembly at any time, without delay.
According to the deputy, this measure could hide secrets so that Macky Sall remains in power after 2024. “In power and in the opposition, it is said that Macky Sall wants to couple the Presidential of 2024 to the next legislative elections. Now he would like to dissolve the National Assembly, stand as a candidate and head of the list of Benno Bokk Yakaar in the legislative elections and campaign for himself and at the same time for his heir apparent,” he said.
