The Professional Football League renews its partnership with the carpooling platform StadiumGO

The Professional Football League is renewing its partnership with the StadiumGO carpooling platform to allow football fans to carpool for journeys to the stadium and thus reduce their environmental impact.

Partners since 2019, the LFP and StadiumGO are extending their collaboration to promote the development of fan carpooling for Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT matches. An agreement that is part of the LFP’s CSR strategy, of which ecological transition is one of the pillars.

This commitment follows the mobilization of the Professional Football League and the Ligue 1 clubs Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT to reduce their energy consumption in the context of the sports energy sobriety plan implemented in 2022. Among the actions undertaken by the LFPs and the clubs, a national communication campaign to encourage supporters to favor sustainable mobility (public transport, carpooling, active mobility) to get to the stadium had in particular been deployed.

This campaign, which began on January 26 and lasted the entire second half of the season, saw the LFP and many clubs publish on their social networks teasers combining football and sustainable mobility in order to raise awareness among supporters and highlight solutions. transport available at each stadium. A necessary awareness-raising approach since the movement of spectators represents a major factor in greenhouse gas emissions during the organization of matches.

This is therefore a major issue for the LFP and the clubs, wishing to commit themselves in this regard. 78% of them now offer a carpooling solution to their supporters thanks to a partnership with a platform, in particular StadiumGO. The latter offers its users carpooling ads solely dedicated to sporting events, both at home and away, allowing supporters to find the route best suited to their needs.

To encourage spectators to use this solution, some of the clubs associated with StadiumGO offer certain advantages to carpoolers; thus, more than 700 parking spaces were distributed this season to reward the carpooling of supporters.
