The Congo Delegation Arrives in Kinshasa for the Games of La Francophonie

The Congo delegation reached Kinshasa on July 16 via the Ngobila beach in the early afternoon. Composed of a total of 38 people, including wrestling and judo athletes, the delegation was immediately taken over by the welcoming committee to take them to the Games Village at the University of Kinshasa.

The hasty crossing of these athletes between the two closest capitals in the world is due, according to some reports, to their participation in the training camp organized by the Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sports of La Francophonie.

The Congolese have joined the delegations from Togo, Burkina Faso and Chad on the site, who have already been accommodated there since their arrival.

According to the national technical director of the Congolese Federation of Judo and associated disciplines, Me Christophe Wogo, the athletes he took to Kinshasa are very motivated and ready to win medals in several categories.

“We are pleasantly surprised by the good organization we have found. We are very well settled here at the Unikin that we discover. This demonstrates the investments that have been made for the proper holding of the Games of La Francophonie. The athletes are motivated and I promise you that we will win several medals,” he said.

On behalf of the Congo, athletes from athletics, basketball, football, judo, freestyle wrestling, table tennis, cycling, African wrestling and disabled sports federations will participate, from 28 July to August 6, to these games dedicated to countries with French in common.
