Tadej Pogacar Takes Break After Tour de France: Skips European Championships in Climbing Time Trial

Tadej Pogacar has taken a break. He first wants to recover after the Tour and therefore fits for the European Championships in climbing time trial.

After the Tour de France, Tadej Pogacar normally rode the post-Tour criterion of Aalst, but he fit for that. He was also scheduled for the European Climbing Time Trial Championships on the St. Gotthard Pass, but UAE confirmed that he will not compete there either. Felix Grossschartner replaces him.

“After the Tour, we decided to take a break. It’s the best choice,” Pogacar responded through the team channels. “That’s why I won’t drive that European Championship.” Pogacar also wished his teammate good luck for that European Championship: “He is one of the favorites.”

It is not yet known when Pogacar will be back in action. His participation in the World Cup has also not yet been confirmed. “Currently, the focus is on resting,” he concluded.
